군산시배드민턴협회(회장 강태환)가 하계훈련차 군산을 찾은 배드민턴 청소년대표와 꿈나무 선수들을 격려했다.
23일 군산시배드민턴협회는 2011년도 제4차 꿈나무선수 국내특별훈련 및 2011년 청소년대표 하계합숙훈련이 진행중인 월명체육관을 찾아 금일봉을 전달했다.
이번 훈련에는 꿈나무 선수의 경우 임원과 선수단 17명, 청소년 대표는 임원과 선수단 46명 등 총 63명이 군산에서 구슬땀을 흘리고 있다.
이중 군산지역 선수단은 금강중 이상진(3년), 박경훈(2년), 소재익(2년) 선수가 청소년대표로 소집돼 훈련에 임하고 있다.
특히 이번 꿈나무와 청소년 대표 하계훈련 군산유치는 중앙고등학교 배드민턴부 감독인 조공희 대한민국주니어대표 코치의 적극적인 유치노력이 결실을 맺은 것으로 지역 배드민턴 활성화는 물론 기량향상에 큰 도움을 주고 있다.
이와 함께 군산시는 선수단의 원활한 이동을 위해 차량을 지원하는 등 편의를 제공해 주고 있다.

강태환 군산시배드민턴협회장은 “우선 군산을 방문해 준 것을 감사하며, 이번 꿈나무선수와 청소년대표 방문은 단순한 하계훈련이 아닌 나운초, 금강중, 중앙고 등 엘리트를 비롯 생활체육 배드민턴 활성화에 지대한 공헌을 할 것”이라며, “앞으로도 군산에서 대한민국을 대표하는 배드민턴 선수들의 훈련이 이뤄질 수 있도록 노력해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
한성귀 청소년대표 총감독은 “우수한 시설은 물론 숙소나 차량지원 등 선수들이 불편함이 없이 훈련에 임하고 있다”며, “이번 하계훈련 기간 동안 6명의 선수를 선발해 9월부터 중국에서 전지훈련을 실시할 계획”이라고 전했다.
한편 꿈나무 선수와 청소년대표는 각각 지난 13일에 소집돼 꿈나무 선수는 27일까지 청소년대표는 9월1일까지 기초 체력훈련, 전문기술 향상훈련, 실전게임 등의 훈련을 소화할 예정이다.
