축구인재 등용문 금석배 17일 킥오프!

전국 초∙고등 123개팀 참가 열전

대한민국 축구 꿈나무들의 등용문인 2011 금석배 전국 초∙고등학생 축구대회가 금석배의 도시 군산 일원에서 성대하게 치러진다.

대한축구협회가 주최하고 전라북도축구협회가 주관, 군산시와 군산시체육회, 군산시축구협회가 후원하는 이번 대회는 오는 17일부터 28일까지 12일간 열전을 펼치게 된다.

매년 수많은 축구스타를 배출하고 있는 금석배는 국내 대회 중 유일하게 축구인의 이름을 딴 대회로서 위상이 높아가고 있다.

올해 대회에도 초등부 저학년 21개팀, 고학년 40개팀, 고등부 저학년 22개팀, 고학년 40개팀 등 총 123개팀이 출전할 예정이다.

이번 대회는 각조 4개팀이 조별 풀리그를 거쳐 초등부는 1,2,3위팀까지 고등부는 1,2위 팀이 본선에 진출, 토너먼트 방식으로 올해 최강자를 가리는 방식으로 진행된다.

홈팀으로서는 구암, 문화초를 비롯 제일고가 출격해 우승을 향한 거침없는 질주행진을 보일 예정이다.

시 관계자는 “전국 축구 꿈나무들의 기량을 판가름할 수 있는 완벽한 대회를 위해서 최선을 다했다”며 “특히 대회기간 중 각종 비상상황에 대비해 각 구장별로 비상대책인원도 구성해 경기에 지장이 없도록 만전의 대비를 했다”고 전했다.

박용희 군산시축구협회장은 “이번 대회를 위해 도 축구협회와 군산시가 유기적인 협력관계를 구축해 만반의 준비에 나서고 있다”라며, “무엇보다 군산이 낳은 축구영웅을 기리는 대회인만큼 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 금석배 전국학생축구대회는 국내 축구발전에 지대한 공헌을 한 군산출신 고 채금석 옹을 기리기 위해 지난 92년에 창설된 국내 최대 규모의 학생 축구대회이다.
