대한민국 16강전, 곳곳서 거리응원

수송공원∙영동상가입구∙은파물빛다리∙읍면주민센터 등

군산시는 대한민국 축구 사상 첫 월드컵 원정 16강을 이루어낸 국가대표 선수들에게 힘을 실어주기 위해 거리응원 장소를 확대 운영한다.

시는 한국팀의 16강 경기가 펼쳐지는 오는 26일 밤 9시부터 수송체육공원을 비롯한 영동상가 입구, 은파 물빛다리에서 8강을 목표로 한 승리염원 거리응원을 실시해 군산 시민의 마음을 하나로 모으는 축제의 장을 마련한다.

특히, 이번 거리응원은 원거리와 노약자, 우천 등을 고려해 일부 읍면 지역은 당일 주민센터를 개방해 대형 TV를 통해 응원할 수 있도록 할 예정이다.

이에 앞서 지난 12일과 17일 그리스와 아르헨티나 경기 당시 수송체육공원 거리응원 인원은 각각 6천명, 1만2천여 명이며, 12일 영동상가 입구에서 펼쳐진 거리응원 시민은 약 3천여명이 달한 것으로 집계됐다.

시 관계자는 “월드컵으로 인해 거리응원은 이제 하나의 문화코드가 되고 있으며 응원을 위해 준비해 온 다양한 도구와 간식 등으로 인한 뒷정리도 깔끔하게 이루어질 수 있도록 선진화된 시민의식을 보여 주실 것”을 부탁했다.

한편 군산시는 월드컵 거리응원전이 성공적으로 치러질 수 있도록 수송체육공원 등 시설점검을 실시하고 있으며 행사장 주변 교통 및 안전에 대비해 관련 기관 및 부서와 협의해 준비에 만전을 기하고 있다.
