군산시청 조정부가 지난 9일부터 11일까지 부산의 서낙동강 조정경기장에서 열린 제36회 장보고기 전국조정대회에서 종합우승을 차지했다.
이번 대회 군산시청은 은메달 3개, 동메달 1개를 획득하면서 여대 및 일반부 종합순위 47점으로 포항시청(42점)을 제치고 종합우승의 영예를 안았다.
입상성적별로는 임은주 선수가 싱글스컬 부문 8분58초69의 기록으로 은메달, 무타페어 김영래-이윤희 조가 8분42초11 은메달, 경량급 더블스컬 최선아-임지민 조가 8분38초50으로 은메달을 목에 걸었고, 김정임-임은주 조는 더블스컬 부문에서 8분54초82로 동메달을 차지했다.
특히 차세대 한국 조정 기대주인 임은주 선수는 오는 11월 열릴 제16회 광저우 아시안게임 대표팀 선수로 발탁됐다.
시 관계자는 “평소 힘든 운동과정에서도 끈끈한 팀웍으로 서로를 격려하며 준비해온 것이 좋은 결과를 낳은 것 같다”고 전했다.
이와 함께 군산대 고영재-지준배 조는 남자대학부 무타페어 부문에서 동메달을 차지했고, 동원중 이민혁 선수도 남중부 싱글스컬에서 소중한 동메달을 획득했다.
한편 군산시청 조정부는 지난 5월 K-Water배 전국 조정대회에서도 종합 2위를 차지하는 등 상승세를 이어가고 있다.
