군산시가 새만금국제마라톤 대회가 열리는 오는 16일 참가선수들의 안전과 대회의 원활한 진행을 위해 새만금방조제 일부 구간에 대해 시간대별로 교통을 통제한다.
새만금국제마라톤은 비응항 입구에서 출발해 야미도, 신시도, 배수갑문, 방조제 중간지점을 반환점으로 돌아오는 풀코스 대회로, 오전 8시부터 11시 30분까지는 비응항∙신시도 입구 구간 도로의 교통을 통제한다.
또한 11시 30분부터 14시 30분까지는 풀반환점인 방조제 중간지점부터 비응항 입구까지를 부분(편도)통제하며 14시 30분 이후부터는 전 구간이 정상운행 된다.
시는 행사 당일 관광객들의 불편을 최소화하기 위해 교통통제 안내소를 새만금산업전시관과 비응항 입구, 신시도 입구, 부안 방조제 진입로 등 4개소에 경찰, 공무원, 자원봉사자 등 100여명을 배치해 운영할 계획이다.
시 관계자는 “새만금방조제 개통 이후 급증한 관광객들이 불편을 겪지 않도록 군산진입 고속도로 IC 및 시내일원에 교통통제 현수막을 게첨하고, 방송, 언론 등을 통한 홍보 등에 집중하고 있다”며 “새만금 국제마라톤대회가 세계인의 행사로 자리 잡아 갈 수 있도록 많은 분들의 이해를 구한다”고 부탁했다.
