대야초 탁구, 올 시즌 주목하라!

회장기 3년만에 제패, 한미정 2관왕 위업

과거 한국 여자초등학교 탁구를 호령했던 대야초등학교가 부활의 날갯짓을 시작했다.

대야초는 지난 25일부터 29일까지 5일간 단양 문화체육센터에서 열린 제36회 회장기 전국초등학교 탁구대회 단체전과 개인전을 석권하는 기염을 토했다.

총 38개팀이 출전한 단체전에서 대야초는 강호 서울 미성초를 8강전에서 4대1 물리친 뒤 여세를 몰아 부천 삼정초와 전통의 강호 울산 일산초를 차례로 격파하며 우승 트로피를 들어올렸다.

이와 함께 개인전에서도 한미정 선수를 비롯 최혜림, 강지수, 김지호 등 5,6학년 선수들이 고른 활약을 펼쳐 올 시즌 전력 기대감을 높게 했다.

개인전에서는 6학년 한미정 선수가 지난 12월 우수선수 초청대회 준우승의 아쉬움을 털고 우승해 2관왕에 올랐고 5학년 김지호 선수는 교보생명컵 우승자인 서대전초 지수민 선수와 결승에서 맞붙어 3대2로 이기고 1위를 차지해 5,6학년 단식을 모두 석권하는 기쁨을 누렸다.

김석중 지도교사는 “올해 첫 출전한 전국대회에서 단체전 우승과 함께 개인전에서도 두각을 나타내 기대를 많이 걸고 있다”며, “명문 대야초 탁구의 위상을 드높이기 위해 매 경기 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
