나운초 배드민턴 상반기 전대회 석권 기염

여름철종별선수권 단체전 우승

올 시즌 전관왕을 목표로 최강의 전력을 선보이고 있는 나운초등학교(교장 최영식) 배드민턴부(감독 김도영∙코치 조공희,이창일,이태효)가 제52회 전국여름철종별배드민턴선수권대회 남자초등부 단체전 우승을 차지하며 상반기 전대회를 석권하는 기염을 토했다.

대한배드민턴협회(회장 오성기)가 주최하고 안동시체육회(회장 김휘동)와 안동시배드민턴협회(회장 손기웅)가 주관하는 이번 대회는 전국 205개팀, 2500여 명의 선수단이 참여해 오는 7월1일까지 열전을 펼치고 있다.

나운초는 이번 대회 단체전 32강서 동강초를 상대로 풀세트까지 가는 접전끝에 3대2로 승리하면서 16강에 합류했고, 이후 백동초와 김천서부초를 3대0으로 가볍게 제압하고 4강에 진출했다.

4강서 나운초는 태장초를 만나 3세트까지 1대2로 뒤지면서 어려운 경기를 펼쳤지만 최강의 복식조인 서승재/소재익과 단식에서 박경훈이 잇따라 승리를 따내면서 결승에 직행했다.

결승전 상대는 김천부곡초.

김천부곡초 또한 올 시즌 탑 클래스 전력으로 양 팀 대결은 결승전답게 팽팽한 접전을 이어갔다.

첫 세트 기세는 나운초가 잡았다. 나운초는 서승재 선수가 상대 이광언을 2-0대(17-12,17-13)으로 누르고 1대0으로 앞서갔다.

그러나 2세트 단식에서는 믿었던 박경훈 선수가 최중우 선수에게 패하면서 1대1 원점승부가 됐고 이후 진행된 3,4세트 복식경기에서는 서로 1대1을 주고 받으면서 2대2로 결국 풀세트 승부까지 갔다.

마지막 단식세트에서 나운초는 올 전국체전 최우수선수상에 빛나는 소재익 선수를 기용했고, 소재익 선수는 이에 보답하듯 김주완 선수를 2-0(17-6,17-13)으로 제압하고 긴 승부에 마침표를 찍었다.

이로써 나운초는 국민체육진흥공단이사장배 전국초등학교배드민턴선수권대회(3월)를 비롯 2009전국봄철종별배드민턴리그전(4월), 제38회 전국소년체전(6월) 등 상반기 4개 대회를 모두 석권하면서 올 시즌 전관왕 석권을 향한 순항을 거듭했다.

이와 함께 나운초는 28일 현재 남자초등부 단식 부문에 서승재 선수가 4강에 안착했고 단식 부문에는 소재익/서승재조가 8강에 진출해 우승에 도전하고 있다.

조공희 코치는 “올 시즌 나운초 전력은 최강이란 단어로 표현할 수 있고 이미 다른팀들의 경계대상 1호로 손꼽히고 있다”며, “상반기 전 대회 석권으로 전력이 많이 노출된 상태지만 매 경기 최선을 다해 남은 대회도 반드시 우승을 차지할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 나운초의 우승 행진은 학교와 지도자, 학부모, 전라북도교육청, 군산교육청, 전라북도배드민턴협회, 군산시배드민턴협회 등의 전폭적인 지원이 이뤄낸 결실로 평가받고 있다.
