“구암동 한전사택 문제, 문시장 정치력 발휘해야”

구암동 소재 한국서부발전 소유 옛 한전사택이 흉물스럽게 방치되는 것과 관련해 군산시의 행정력 부재를 질타하는 목소리가 시의회에서 공식 제기됐다.

군산시의회 채경석 시의원(민주당 비례)은 28일 열린 제 144회 임시회 5분 발언을 통해 “구암동산에 자리잡은 4만 1166㎡ 114세대의 한전사택으로 인해 도심 미관이 심하게 저해됨은 물론 인근 주민들에게 소름끼치는 우범지역으로 전락하고 있다”고 지적했다.

채의원은 이어 “시민들은 한국서부발전이 군산 발전에 협조해 줄 것이라는 기대감을 갖고 발전소 건립에 협조했는데도 불구하고 발전소 측은 지엽적이고 아주 작은 자산관리에 스스로의 발목을 묶고 사택 문제에 미온적으로 일관, 기업이미지에 먹칠을 하고 있다”고 질타했다.

또한 “서부발전의 이렇듯 황당한 행위는 군산시의 행정력 부재에서 나타난 당연한 결과인 만큼 군산시는 지금이라도 특단의 대책을 수립해야 한다”고 촉구했다.

채의원은 특히 “정치는 타협이자 협상이다”고 전제한 뒤 "직도사격장 문제로 2500억원을 받아낼 때와 같이 문동신 시장이 한전사택 문제 해결을 위해 탁월한 정치력을 발휘해야 할 것"이라고 거듭 강조했다.
